The Role
We are looking for an Assistant Pastor to work with our Pastor and other elders in the overall leadership and care of the church. Alongside this general ministry, you will be responsible for heading up our growing youth and children’s work.
You will serve in a wide range of areas across the whole church family, including regular preaching and leading in our Sunday services, involvement with Prayer Meetings and Home Groups, engaging in pastoral care with individuals, involvement in weekly Elders’ Meetings and quarterly Trustees Meetings, etc.
You will also have particular responsibility for youth and children’s ministry within the church. This will include providing oversight to our teams of volunteer leaders for the various midweek and Sunday groups. Your week-by-week involvement in each of those groups will depend on your gifts and the particular needs at the time. We would love to see these ministries develop and grow in new areas.
How to apply
If you are interested in this position, please contact our Pastor, Nathan Burley (), with some basic information about you, your ministry experience, and your desire to explore serving alongside us here.
Depending on suitability, he may arrange for an initial phone conversation or send you an application pack to fill in. We would be very interested in being sent links to sample sermons.
As the process develops, we would invite you to visit us in Wem, possibly preaching at one of our services and undertaking an interview.
